Guitar melody composed for an intro to video content.

This was composed in conjunction with an illustration and 3D sculpt submitted to a virtual art gallery. It was meant to emulate the feelings of the heart; uncertainty in the piano, stress in the drums, overstimulation in the strings, beating faster and more intensely until it fails.

LabBop started with a reddit post I stumbled upon talking about Chrome Music Lab. I was curious about the application and toyed around with the various tools, but the “Song Maker” was essentially a sequencer and I just happened to draw a sequence that made me think “Wow, that’s a bop” , and so, LabBop came into existence. I intend to expand upon this sequence and make a utility composition to be used in some form of media. Perhaps a menu in a video game?

What would eventually become a preconcept for the first movement of a sonata began on a browser-based virtual keyboard; a messy birth from haphazard keyboard smashing. However, hidden in chaos, a rudimentary melody was tucked away. As I extracted the melody and repeated it, I became inspired and started trying to tell a story through the piano. In the music, I hear a story about the seasons of the earth. Currently, I have hit a creative block and just can’t seem to find the next transition. In the future, returning to this composition, my goal is to take a break from the next stage and work on cleaning up and possibly expanding the current parts.
